DOLPHINS in sixth after day two of Atlantic Sun Golf Championship
JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - Jessica Welch (Lavonia, Ga.) fired a 2-over par 74 to follow up her JU record 5 under par 67 on Monday. Welch is tied for the lead at the 36-hole mark of the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship held at the Par 72 (6198 yard) Pine Lakes Golf Club.

Welch’s (67-74 – 141) leaves her in a tie for first with Sian Evans (67-73 – 140) and Gabriella Wahl (71-70-141) of ETSU.

Francesca Yong (Malaysia) (74-78 – 152) is tied for 20th in the individual portion of the tournament. Natalie Schmett (Evansville, Ind.) finished at (77-77-154) and Carlie Gelhausen (Noblesville, Ind.)(75-79-154) Finished in a tie for 24th going in to Wednesday’s final round. Christina Paulsen (Ridgewood, N.J.) (80-79-159) Sits alone in 43rd place with 18 holes remaining.

The Dolphins team total of (293-308 – 601) places the Dolphins in sixth place overall headed into Wednesday’s final round.

The East Tennessee State Buccaneers (287-291 – 578) lead the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles (298-291 – 589).
