JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville University women’s golf team returns to action for its second event of the spring on Monday at the UNF Intercollegiate, beginning a busy stretch that will have them competing in three tournaments in less than two weeks. The Dolphins will play 54 holes at the Jacksonville Golf & Country Club, a par-72 course located off Hodges Boulevard, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start and 36 holes on Monday, and another 8 a.m. start and 18 holes on Tuesday.

When the Dolphin team of Jessica Welch, Natalie Schmett, Sabrina Rumbaugh, Morgan Matchett and Megan Collins tee off on Monday morning, they’ll be trying to match an effort from three weeks ago in which Jacksonville obliterated the previous record for lowest 18-hole round with a team score of 285 in the second round at the Amelia Island Collegiate. Due in large part to that score, the Dolphins also set a new 36-hole mark of 589. For the freshman Collins, it will be her first collegiate tournament. Carlie Gehlhausen will also compete as an individual for JU.

“I look forward to competing in our second event of the spring season at the UNF Intercollegiate,” said Head Coach Jen Borocz. “We had a great first event and I am anxious to see what we can do this week. It's nice to play another event in Jacksonville as we've played the golf course a couple of times.”

Next up for the Dolphins following the UNF Intercollegiate is the team’s longest trip of the spring, heading out to North Carolina to compete in the Pinehurst Invitational at the famed Pinehurst Resort on March 16-17.
