Hoffman Announced As Women’s Lacrosse A-Sun Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Three Jacksonville players named to the 12 person Academic All-Conference Team

MACON, Ga. – On Tuesday, April 29, the Atlantic Sun announced the names of 12 student-athletes – including three from Jacksonville University – who have been named to the 2014 Lacrosse Academic All-Conference Team.

For the second year in a row, senior Ali Hoffman (Gambrills, Md.) has earned the title of Women’s Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year and she joins fellow Dolphins Holly Ventimiglia (Medford, N.Y.) and Kirstin Purdy (Lake Worth, Fla.) on the team.

To qualify for the academic recognition, an athlete must have competed in 50 percent of her team’s games and compiled a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.3 or better.

Spanning the only two seasons of A-Sun women’s lacrosse, the Dolphins own a perfect 9-0 record and this year outscored conference opposition by a margin of 107-to-21.

Jacksonville will play host to the A-Sun Tournament this weekend at Southern Oak Stadium starting on Friday at 1 p.m. In the first semifinal match of the weekend, No. 1 JU takes on No. 4 Stetson.
