Hoffman Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for Second Straight Year

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -  On Thursday, May 15, district members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released its 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team and Jacksonville’s women’s lacrosse’s Ali Hoffman was honored on the list.

Recognized as one of the nation’s top student athletes, Hoffman reprised her selection on District Four’s First Team and will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America awards.

Less than two weeks ago, Hoffman was dressed in graduation regalia to receive her degree in finance and marketing. Her 3.99 grade point average has earned her the honor of being a two-time Atlantic Sun Women’s Lacrosse Student Athlete of the Year and most recently she assisted her team in making their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance. In her final season with the Dolphins, Hoffman racked up 39 points on 26 goals and 13 assists. She also recorded 41 ground balls and caused 12 turnovers.

Over the course of her career, Hoffman has netted 102 goals and assisted on 69 others. She leaves JU as the all-time assist leader and is second in program history in scoring.

The women’s at-large team includes NCAA Division I student-athletes that compete in bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis and water polo.
