JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University track and field is preparing for two events as Svenja Meyer and Katy Solis will run the 10k at the historic Penn Relays on Thursday evening while the remainder of the team will compete at UNF on Saturday.
The college women’s 10k is set the start at 10:15 p.m. this Thursday during the 120th Penn Relays at Franklin Field. It is the world’s oldest and largest relay that is scheduled for Thursday through Sunday and will be nationally televised on NBC Sports on Saturday from 12:30-3 p.m.
“The oldest record on our books is the 10k record set 20 years ago,” Head Coach Ron Grigg said. “Both Svenja and Katy will be attempting to better that record on Thursday night at the historic Penn Relays.”
Saturday the remaining Dolphins will compete at the North Florida Invitational at Hodge’s Stadium.
“Then we will turn our attention to the UNF meet where we are hoping that each athlete will continue to improve their marks in our last competition before we break for final exams and graduation," Grigg added.
