– The Jacksonville University women’s basketball team is in the midst of summer workouts as they look to climb the Atlantic Sun standings under first-year head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, but the Dolphins took a timeout from the gym to work with local youth from the Hubbard House last week. Ranging in age from 5 to 11, the summer enrichment program and the Dolphins got together to go through some basketball drills, but also to read and do some fun inside activities to beat the summer heat.
The Hubbard House is a domestic violence center serving Duval and Baker counties. The organization has three goals; to provide safety for victims and their children, to empower victims, and to work toward social change through education and advocacy.
