Former JU Dolphin Russell Knox Earns PGA TOUR Card for 2013-14
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Former Jacksonville University standout Russell Knox is back on the PGA TOUR. The 2007 JU graduate finished 20 on the priority list amongst a group of 50 Web.com players who secured 2013-14 PGA TOUR playing privileges.

All 50 card earners, including Knox, are eligible to begin their 2013-14 PGA TOUR seasons in two weeks at the Frys.com Open in California

The JU alum previously appeared in 11 PGA events last season and made 23 starts as a TOUR rookie in 2012. He made his way back on the tour following a strong showing this past weekend at the Web.com Tour Championship in which he carded a -7, 273 (67-69-68-69) and tied for sixth overall.

Earlier this summer Knox posted the fifth 59 in the history of the Web.com Tour when he shot the score on in late July at Hillcrest Country Club in the second round of the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft.

His PGA TOUR this summer was highlighted by a T13 at the Travelers Championship and a T45 at the U.S. Open one week earlier.

A native of Scotland, Knox led Jacksonville to the Atlantic Sun Conference title in 2006 and made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2006 and 2007.
