Jacksonville University men’s golf tees off the spring
2014 season on Monday February 3rd by hosting the 5th annual Sea Best Seafood
Invitational. The two-day tournament
will be held at TPC Sawgrass on the historic PLAYERS Stadium Course in Ponte
Vedra, Fla. on a par 72, 6,977-yard layout.

The 16-team tournament features nine top 100 teams according to the latest Golfstat.com rankings, including No. 9 Texas A&M, No. 37 Liberty and No. 50 Tennessee.
The complete field consists of: Cal Poly, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Florida Atlantic, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Liberty, North Florida, Old Dominion, Pepperdine, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC-Upstate, Winthrop
Tennessee claimed the 2013 team title with a +15, 879 that included a tournament record nine-under, 279 during the second round of play.
The Dolphins are led by Brett McKinnon of Nova
Scotia who finished in the top ten in half of his fall matches. Local product Colin Monagle will also represent Jacksonville along with Nick Torrance, Prem Samritpricha and Connon Salanger.
The first two rounds will begin with a shotgun start at
8:00 a.m. Monday morning. The
tournament will conclude on Tuesday morning starting at eight. Admission is free and carts will be available
in the clubhouse for spectators.
