Monagle & Salanger Rally Dolphins In Sea Best Invitational Final Round
PONTE VEDRA, Fla. - A pair of one-under 71s from Colin Monagle and Connor Salanger rallied the Jacksonville men’s golf team in the final round of the Sea Best Invitational held on THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. As a team the Dolphins posted a final round 294, second only to East Carolina on Tuesday, to move up five places into a tie for ninth in the stacked 16 team field.
Monagle’s final round included three birdies against two bogeys as he climbed 13 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for ninth. He closed the 54 hole event with a seven-over 223 (79-73-71).
Salanger’s 71 was highlighted by four birdies on the front nine. He ended the tournament with a 242 (83-88-71).
The Dolphins' final round also consisted of a 74 from Brett McKinnon and a 78 from Prem Samritpricha.
Liberty won a tie breaker over North Florida to take team medalist honors. On the individual side, the co-medalists were Austin Padova from North Florida and Greg Yates of Texas A&M.
Jacksonville returns to action on Feb. 15-16 at the Gator Invitational.
