JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Due to heavy rains, thunder and lightning on Saturday morning, the Jacksonville University track & field team did not participate in the final day of the UNF Spring Break Invitational.

"Due to the weather, we chose not to compete today," Head Coach Ron Grigg said. "The team had great performances yesterday across the board. We have a very important competition next week at the Florida Relays. We didn't want to risk injury or illness that might result by competing after sitting through hours of weather delays."

On Friday, Jacksonville recorded six first-place finishes in a mix of final and preliminary races, while Svenja Meyer set a new JU outdoor record in the 5,000m run.
