JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – With a throw of 48.74 meters (159'-11")
last Friday, Jacksonville sophomore Kree Clark was the top collegiate finisher
in the discus at the UNF Spring Break Invitational and was awarded the Atlantic
Sun Outdoor Field Performer of the Week award on Wednesday, April 2. This is Clark’s
third career Outdoor Field Performer of the Week award and first this season.
This is also Jacksonville’s second straight Outdoor weekly award.
Clark’s best effort of the afternoon is currently the top discus throw in the Atlantic Sun, 18th in the East Region and 49th nationally. She was more than a full meter better than the second place collegiate finisher in the event, Haley Springman of Pitt. She also nearly qualified for the finals in the hammer throw event, but finished 10th with a toss of 45.89 meters.
Clark and the rest of the Dolphins have a big couple of days ahead of them, as they’ll travel down to Gainesville to compete in the Florida Relays beginning April 3 and going through Saturday afternoon.
