Men's Rowing Earns its First MAAC Honor of the Spring

EDISON, N.J.  Jacksonville University’s men’s Varsity Four brought home a silver medal from last weekend’s regatta and continue to earn accolades for the program today as they were announced as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference’s Boat of the Week.

For the eighth consecutive year, JU’s men’s rowing program has won the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships. In a second-place finish, the Varsity Four boat finished not even a full second behind Georgia Tech at 6:44.7. The Dolphins beat out Rollins by 3.6 seconds and had a ten or more second advantage over Florida, FSU, FIT and USF. The boat consisted of Alex Tate (coxswain), Brian Cosmillo, Chase Rowe, Scott Del Vecchio, and Scott Waitley.

Next up, Jacksonville competes in the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships on April 18.
