@JUsoftball Faces ETSU on Senior Weekend

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University softball will play its final home weekend series of the season against ETSU on Saturday and Sunday while celebrating its four seniors before game one at 12:30 p.m.

Saturday’s double-header is scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. while Sunday’s contest is set for 12 p.m.

The Dolphins (16-27, 6-14 Atlantic Sun) most recently split at non-conference Georgia Southern this past Wednesday, April 16. They recorded their fifth shutout win of the season before being run-ruled in an 11-1 loss. On the day, the Fins tallied three home runs, including back-to-back shots by Karson Tuck and Charli Bradshaw in the first game and Emily Sanchez’s solo shot in the second.

For the seventh straight week, freshman Charli Bradshaw leads at the plate with a .359 average (28-for-78). Sanchez (.308, 41-for-133) and Cecile Gomez (.304, 21-for-69) once again follow in second and third. Victoria Brown (7-10) holds a 3.40 ERA over 121.1 innings pitched.

ETSU (17-26, 5-13 A-Sun) most recently split against non-conference Furman on April 16. The Bucs lost 7-3 before shutting out Furman 5-0 in the second contest. On the road the Bucs stand 0-10.

Katie Wolff (.374), Jackie Baird (.319) and Nicole Fox (.290) hold the best averages while Taylor Carter has a 3.54 ERA over 122.2 innings tossed.

All-time, Jacksonville stands 14-3 against ETSU.
