Darty Hires Adam Rollman as Top Assistant
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Head Coach Julie Darty has begun the process of putting together her first staff with the hiring of Adam Rollman as her top assistant for the upcoming 2014 volleyball season. Rollman joins Jacksonville University after spending the past two seasons at the University of Iowa.
A 2012 graduate of the University of Nebraska, Rollman was a four-year starter on the Cornhusker club volleyball team. As a senior, he served as the club’s president and floor captain. While attending Nebraska, he also volunteered as a student assistant with nearby Nebraska Wesleyan, and was a student manager for Cornhusker women’s volleyball – a team that achieved a No. 1 national ranking during his time there.
At Iowa, Rollman was tasked with working with the defensive players, preparing scouting reports and handling video operations as the Hawkeyes battled against some of the nation’s best in the always-loaded Big Ten. Eight programs made the NCAA Tournament out of the conference last season, and the National Championship match was an all-Big Ten affair between Penn State and Wisconsin.
Since the conclusion of the 2013 season, Rollman has volunteered with the Creighton University program. The Blue Jays reached the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament last season after a four-set win over Arkansas.
“I am so excited to have Adam join the Jacksonville Volleyball program,” said Darty. “Adam brings experience from great programs that carry a tradition of excellence and success and I am looking forward to him bringing that to our gym and team culture. Just talking with Adam, you can tell he has awesome energy and enthusiasm for the game and we are very fortunate to have him at JU. Adam will have a tremendous amount of responsibility with training, video and scouting, as well as recruiting. I think we will feel his impact immediately.”
