Guilherme Brandao Signs with the Charlotte Eagles

The Charlotte Eagles of the USL Professional Division have signed former Jacksonville University men’s soccer player Guilherme Brandao to a professional contract.

Brandao joined the Dolphins in 2012 after spending two seasons at Belhaven University. His back- to- back campaigns of 20 goals and 11 assists helped guide Belhaven to consecutive berths in the NAIA national tournament. In green and gold, the midfielder’s hustle and soccer acumen were vital to JU’s success. In his final year at JU, he scored his first Dolphin goal in the 2-0 win over USC Upstate and was named to the All-Atlantic Sun Second Team at the season’s end.

Graduating with a degree in political science in December of 2013, Brandao joined five other incoming players for the 2014 Eagle season.  He is expected to add depth in the midfield and fill in on the backline when needed.

The Charlotte Eagles (3-4) continue their season against the Atlanta Silverbacks on May 17.
