Dolphins Sweep for Second Straight Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University track and field swept the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Track and Field Awards for the second straight week, increasing its tally to eight awards this outdoor season.

The A-Sun announced on Wednesday, May 14 that junior Shanique Walker and sophomore Kree Clark were named the Track Performer of the Week and the Field Performer of the week, respectively. Walker also earned the nod on March 26 and April 30 while Clark was named the FPOW on April 2 and April 23.

Shanique Walker ran a Jacksonville best 13.11 in the 100-meter hurdles for second-place at last Friday's FSU Seminole Twilight meet. Her time ranks 17th nationally and 10th in the NCAA East Region. She also earned fifth in the triple jump (12.42m, 40' 09.00") that ranks 58th in the East Region and second in the A-Sun.

Kree Clark threw a Jacksonville best 51.82m (170' 00") in the hammer throw last Friday at the FSU Seminole Twilight meet that stands second-best in the A-Sun this season. Clark also finished second in the discus (52.26m, 171' 05") that stands 16th in the East Region and 44th nationally while also placing fifth in the shot put (12.58m, 41' 03.25").

Next, Jacksonville will compete in the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships May 16-17 at host North Florida.
