Rowing Places Four Boats In Top 3 At Florida Fall Classic

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The JU men's novice 4+ boat rowed to a first-place finish in a time of 12:28, while the men's novice 8+ tied for first (11:46) as the Dolphins placed four boats in the top 3 Saturday at the Florida Fall Classic in Melbourne. Ian Hamlyn, Robert Davis, Tom Wilson, Christian Ahler, and coxswain Sandy Richardson led the Dolphins' men's novice 4+ past second-place Stetson (13:08) and third-place UCF (13:10). That same group along with Victor Collins, Alan Jensen, Edgar Santiago, and Arturo Castrodad tied for first in the novice 8+ race with Florida Tech (11:46), finishing ahead of UCF by one second.

The men's varsity 4+ A team finished second (11:51), while the men's varsity 8+ placed fourth with a time of 10:38. The women's varsity 8+ rowed to a seventh-place finish (12:05).

The Dolphins conclude their fall season and race again in the Rollins Invitational, March 19-20.
