Rowing opens spring season at Rollins Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU rowing teams will look to build on the success of the fall season as the Dolphins begin spring competition this Saturday at the Rollins Invitational on Lake Maitland.

JU will have a total of 10 boats competing this weekend including six from the men (Varsity 8, Varsity 4, Novice 8, Novice 4, Junior Varsity 8, Junior Varsity 4) and four from the women (Varsity 8, Varsity 4, Novice 4, Junior Varsity 8).

The Women's Varsity 8 consisting of coxswain Audrey Sefton, Kate Burke, Lyndsay Blair, Stephanie Bechtold, Rachael Pacheco, Jessica Tuten, Alaina Kemp, Kelly Burke and Adelina Anderson will compete at 8 a.m.

The Men's Varsity 8 with coxswain Kristen Sukolsky, Richmond Jones, Greg Boccieri, Chris Carter, Patrick Lura, Lee Richard, Adam Heine, Daniel Schall and Michael Samaha will begin their race at 8:20 a.m.

The Women's Junior Varsity 8 with coxswain Michelle Henry, Leira Fuentes, Kate Gout, Robin Corbo, Keely Wells, Amanda Soukup, Claire Pirri, Jenna Barker and Tiffanie Parchment will start at 8:40 a.m.

The Women's Varsity 4 with coxswain Audrey Sefton, Kate Burke, Lyndsay Blair, Stephanie Bechtold and Adelina Anderson will begin at 9 a.m.

The Men's Junior Varsity 8 consisting of coxswain Jessica Marchant, Matt D'Amico, Stefan Negaard, Tyler Humphrey, Joseph Civello, Matt Maffesanti, Matthew Given, Michael Scully and Charlie Allen will start at 9:15 a.m.

The Women's Novice 4 with coxswain Loren Caison, Tiffanie Parchment, Tori Bigley, Jenna Barker and Liz Topp compete at 9:30 a.m.

The Men's Varsity 4 with coxswain Kristen Sukolsky, Richmond Jones, Greg Boccieri, Lee Richard and Patrick Lura start at 9:45 a.m.

The Men's Junior Varsity 4 with coxswain Ray Davis, Matt Maffesanti, Stefan Negaard, Michael Scully and Charlie Allen begin at 10 a.m.

The Men's Novice 8 consisting of coxswain T.J. Urbanek, Matt D'Amico, Michael Samaha, Tyler Humphrey, Garrett Markle, Erich Negaard, Lucas Meers, Rick McCarson and Matthew Given start at 10:15 a.m.

The Men's Novice 4 with coxswain Dom Iannacone, Christian Cooper, Lucas Meers, Erich Negaard and Romeo Cabanban will compete at 11 a.m.
