Women's Cross Country Finishes Second at Stetson Hatter Invitational

DELAND, Fla. - The Jacksonville University women's cross country team finished second out of 11 teams at the Stetson Hatter Invitational Friday at the Sperling Complex. Freshman Lindsey Moffenbier (McDonough, Ga.) continues to lead the women, as she finished second out of 91 runners in the women's 5K race.

Along with Moffenbier, the Dolphins had three runners finish in the top 20 as senior Tamsin Anstey (N. Vancouver, B.C.) finished 12th, while sophomore Christina Bensi (Troy, N.Y.) finished 16th. Junior Chelsea Knight (Ocean Grove, N.J.) and freshman Rachel Garvin (Denton, Texas) finished 27th and 28th, respectively, while senior Laura Winn (Wilmington, Mass.) finished 33rd. Freshman Jennifer Tyler (Jupiter, Fla.) finished 40th, sophomore Patti Jenkins (Orlando, Fla.) finished 45th and freshman Keiona Frenche (Riverdale, Md.) finished 50th as the Dolphins finished second behind UCF with 75 points.

Sophomore Tony Strother (Green Cove Springs, Fla.) was the top-finisher for the men, placing 51st in the 8K race.

The JU men's and women's cross country teams return to action Saturday, Nov. 2, as they travel to Troy, Ala., to compete in the A-Sun Cross Country Championship.
