Cross Country Performs Well At UCF Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. - Sophomore Lindsey Moffenbier (McDonough, Ga.) finished third, while sophomore Karen Edmonds (Green Cove Springs, Fla.) placed fourth in the 4K race to help lead the Dolphins to a second place finish at the UCF Invitational on Friday night in Orlando. Conference rivals Stetson, Florida Atlantic, and host UCF were the other teams that competed in the event, with UCF coming out on top in both the men's and women's meets. Junior Christina Bensi (Troy, N.Y.) and freshman Stacey Ollar (Jacksonville/Mandarin) also ran well, finishing 13th and 14th, respectively. Claudia Beitel of Florida Atlantic University finished first for the women, with a time of 15:16.07.

The men finished fourth out of four teams, and were led by Jason Coates (Jacksonville, Fla.), who finished 17th, while Mathew Harrell (Belding, Mich.) came in 19th. Danny Cook of UCF was the winner in the 6K race with a time of 19:48.94.

The Dolphins return to action when they travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to compete in the Florida State Invitational next Friday, Sept. 12th.
