September 18, 1999

Jacksonville, Fla. - Jacksonville dropped to 3-6 on the year with a 3-0 (15-11, 15-13, 15-14) loss at the hands of Butler University (5-7) on Sunday afternoon in Swisher Gymnasium. The victory for the Bulldogs was their second straight after losing the first match of their Florida tour.

The Bulldogs took advantage of their size on offense and defense as they out-hit and out-blocked the Dolphins .279 to .203 and nine to five respectively. Sophomore Carrie Arago and senior Kelly Hickam were the only Dolphins to reach double-figures in kills, posting 12 and 11 respectively. Sophomore setter Carrie Bosworth added a match-high 43 assists while recording eight kills of her own.

Leading the way for Butler was Laura Klancnik with 13 kills and Kylie Galbraith with 38 assists. Brianne Faust and Allison Cox each chipped in with nine kills for the Bulldogs.

Jacksonville will return to action on Friday, September 24th at Florida Atlantic with their 1999 Trans America Athletic Conference opener.
