Jacksonville, Fla. - Jacksonville University has announced the promotion of Robin (Kibben) Mignerey to the position of head volleyball coach. Mignerey succeeds Ann Marie Indorf who resigned in January. Mignerey has been the assistant coach at JU for the past three seasons.

JU enjoyed unprecedented success in conference play in 1999, going 7-2 in the Trans America Athletic Conference, the most conference wins in JU volleyball history. The Dolphins finished 15-12 overall, reaching the semifinals of the TAAC post-season tournament. "Robin has been a vital part of the program for three years," said JU Director of Athletics Tom Seitz. Her knowledge of the program will be crucial in our reaching the next level of play."

Mignerey came to JU after leading Lake Worth Christian HS to the 1996 Class A finals. She was named the 1996 3A-2A-1A Coach of the Year by the Sun Sentinel. Prior to coaching LWCHS, Mignerey was an undergraduate assistant at Clemson University, where she helped her former team to a second place finish in the ACC.

Mignerey was a four-year letterwinner for the Tigers, and the team MVP her first three seasons. She was a first team All-ACC pick her final three years, and was voted All-South Region as a junior and senior.

"We have a great nucleus of returning talent," Mignerey said. With two very solid recruits and an aggressive spring training program, we are very excited about the 2000 season."
