Jacksonville, Fla. - North Florida's Kierstan Jakowicz recorded a .786 kill percentage with 11 kills and four blocks, and Kari Weber compiled 11 kills and four blocks to lead the Ospreys past Jacksonville University (5-7) by the score of 3-0 (15-4, 15-6, 15-9) in volleyball action at FCCJ Wednesday night.
UNF hit an impressive .467 for the match, including a .586 in game to set the tone for the night. Julie Bekker recorded 10 kills and 10 digs for UNF, which won its seventh match in a row. Osprey setter Alysia Kern posted a perfect 7 for 7 on kills, and had 35 assists as she directed the potent UNF offense. Kelly Hickam led the Dolphins with nine kills and Jessica Windell added eight. Setter Carrie Bosworth compiled 20 assists and three players had six digs each.
UNF plays another NCAA Division I opponent this weekend when they travel to Macon, Ga. to face Mercer on Sat., Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. The Dolphins will also return to action this Saturday with a crucial TAAC match at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C., match time 7:00 P.M.
