Dolphins Fall To Rattlerettes

Jacksonville, Fla. - Jacksonville dropped to 3-5 on the year with a 3-0 (15-4, 15-11, 15-13) loss at the hands of Florida A&M (6-3) on Friday night in Swisher Gymnasium. The victory for the Rattlerettes was their sixth straight after opening the season 0-3.

After dropping both matches to the Dolphins in 1998, Florida A&M's strong performance in game one set the tone for the match. Led by senior Reneeka Gause (17 kills and six blocks), freshman Anisha Nicholson (10 kills, seven digs and five blocks) and solid team defense, the Rattlerettes built on their game-one success as they held the Dolphins to a .137 hitting percentage for the match.

Jacksonville senior Kelly Hickam continued her solid play of the early season as she led the Dolphins with a team-high 14 kills and 18 digs, while posting a .464 hitting percentage. Sophomore setter Carrie Bosworth added 36 assists and seven digs for the Dolphins.

Jacksonville will return to action on Sunday, September 19th at 1:00 P.M. when they host Butler in Swisher Gymnasium.
