Volleyball To Host Florida A&M Saturday Night

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University volleyball team will look to extend its winning streak to three when the Dolphins play host to Florida A&M Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Swisher Gymnasium.

JU (2-2) enters the contest riding a two-match streak, including Wednesday night's 3-game sweep of Bethune-Cookman College. The Dolphins have now won six consecutive games and have won eight of their last 11 games dating back to a 3-2 loss at Georgia Southern on Sept. 2.

Senior middle hitter Brooke Jackson (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) leads the team with 60 kills and 22 total blocks (three solo). Freshman Kelly Ryals (Gainesville, Fla.) continues to have a solid rookie campaign, leading the team with 51 digs while ranking second in kills with 46 and third in blocks with nine.

Florida A&M enters Saturday's match 1-0 on the year with a 3-0 win over Mercer on Sept. 5. Junior outside hitter Shante Haymore leads the Rattlers with 17 kills and three blocks to go with nine digs while sophomore setter Delisha Peterson paces the club with 10 digs and 30 assists.

After Saturday's match against FAMU, JU travels to Providence, R.I., where they will participate in the Brown University Tournament. The Dolphins play Princeton and La Salle on Friday before taking on St. Peter's and host Brown on Saturday.
