DeLAND, Fla. - The Jacksonville University volleyball team returned to its winning ways, defeating TAAC foe Stetson 3-0 Tuesday night at the Edmunds Center.

The win completed the Dolphins' regular-season sweep over Stetson as JU defeated the Hatters 3-0 back on Sept. 26 in Jacksonville. With the win, JU improved to 10-5 on the year and 3-1 in TAAC play while Stetson dropped to 3-12 overall and 2-2 in league activity.

Junior outside hitter Carrie Arago (Orlando, Fla.) paced JU, leading all players with match bests in kills with 16 and digs with 18. Senior middle hitter Brooke Jackson (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.), meanwhile, had 14 kills and a season-best .583 attack percentage with no errors in 24 attempts. Jackson also recorded a match-best six block assists as JU posted a season-high 10.5 team blocks.

Freshman outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) also finished in double digits in kills with 10 as JU outhit Stetson .311 to just .156. Senior Jessica Windell (Newport, Ore.) posted 16 digs while Dimitrova and senior Tiffany Twaddle (Dallas, Texas) each had 15.

As they had done last week, the Dolphins won the first two games of the match. With 15-10 and 16-14 wins, JU once again was in the driver's seat to control the outcome of the match. But unlike the previous two matches where JU won the first two games and was forced to play five due to mental mistakes and poor hitting, the Dolphins increased their intensity in game three and outhit Stetson .462 (14 kills, 2 errors, 26 attacks) to just .032 (7 kills, 6 errors, 31 attacks) en route to a convincing 15-5 win.

Stetson's Michelle Clonan and Miki Ford each posted a team-high 13 kills in the loss, while Ford paced the squad with 14 digs.

The Dolphins return to action on Friday, Oct. 13 when they play host to UCF in a non-conference match at 7:30 p.m. in Swisher Gymnasium. It will be the first of a four-match homestand where the Dolphins take on Morris Brown at 2 p.m. on Oct. 15, TAAC foe Campbell at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 20 and league opponent Georgia State at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 21.
