JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University Volleyball team made quick work of Morris Brown as the Dolphins defeated the visiting Lady Wolverines, 15-2, 15-1, 15-7, Sunday afternoon at Swisher Gymnasium.
The Dolphins improved to 11-6 on the year while Morris Brown fell to 5-18. Freshman outside hitter Kelly Ryals (Gainesville, Fla.) led all players with six kills as the match took just 53 minutes to complete.
JU's defense kept Morris Brown at bay throughout the match as the Lady Wolverines hit -.173 during the match. Sophomore Brooke Ahrens (Benson, Ill.) tied Ryals to lead the Dolphin defense with five digs.
Senior Juanita Barb (Sarasota, Fla.), who saw her most extensive action after injuring her ankle in preseason practice, had four kills, four digs and a match-high four service aces.
Tiffany Jones led Morris Brown with four kills while Terrica Cook paced the club with a match-best seven digs.
The Dolphins return to action on Friday, Oct. 20 when they play host to TAAC opponent Campbell at 7:30 p.m. in Swisher Gymnasium.
