2006 NCAA Basketball Tickets Go on Sale Thursday, March 24

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Ticket applications for the 2006 NCAA Basketball Championship First & Second Rounds, to be held at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena March 16 & 18, 2006, will be available to the general public beginning Thursday, March 24 at 10 a.m. Ticket order forms will be processed on a first come, first served basis or via random drawing (if needed). Orders will be processed according to date received and payment is due at the time of application.

Ticket applications are available in three ways:

  1. At the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena Box Office: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday.
  2. On Jacksonville University's official athletic web site - www.judolphins.com.
  3. Via phone, by calling (904) 630-3900.
Ticket packages are $165 each and are for two sessions on Thursday, March 16 and one session on Saturday, March 18 - a total of six games. Individual game tickets are not available. Payment may be made in the form of cash, check, money order, MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover credit cards.

There is a $9 service charge for each ticket package ordered, which may be avoided only by paying with cash in person at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena Box Office. There is a maximum of eight ticket packages per order.

The NCAA Basketball Championship, which is being hosted by Jacksonville University and the Jacksonville Sports and Entertainment Board (JEDC), is making its first appearance on the First Coast. Teams and pairings for the 2006 NCAA Basketball Tournament will be announced on Sunday, March 12, 2006. Tickets will not be mailed out until the end of January, but purchasers will receive a postcard confirmation in the mail.

The seven other sites for the 2006 NCAA Tournament First & Second rounds are: Auburn Hills, Mich.; Dallas, Texas; Dayton, Ohio; Greensboro, N.C.; Philadelphia, Pa.; Salt Lake City, Utah; and San Diego, Calif.

There have been three previous basketball games played at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena: Florida vs. UCF (2003), USA Basketball vs. Puerto Rico (2004) and JU vs. Florida (2004).
