Dave Farraday Named Senior Associate Athletic Director

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University has promoted Dave Farraday to Senior Associate Athletic Director, athletic director Alan Verlander announced today. Farraday was promoted to Associate A.D for Finance in July of 2003 after serving as an Assistant A.D. for Finance for two years. He earned his first promotion in June of 2001 after working for four years as the Dolphins' Facilities and Operations Director.

"Dave, along with a few others, has been the glue around here," said Verlander. "He is the ultimate team player and most importantly, someone I trust. This promotion is well deserved."

Farraday came to JU in 1996 after serving as the director of the James H. Barnhart Student Activity Center at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte from 1994-97. Prior to that, the Philadelphia, Pa., native spent three years (1992-94) as the manager of the Jacksonville Sports Complex and six years (1986-92) as the manager of the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Coliseum. He also served as the ticket manager for the Sports Complex (1983-86) and was the ticket manager for the Jacksonville Tea Men of the North American Soccer League from 1980-82.

Farraday graduated with a B.A. in sociology from Dickinson (Pa.) College in 1978, where he played two years of varsity soccer. Following graduation, he spent three seasons as ticket manager for the Washington Diplomats of the NASL in Washington, D.C.
