In this edition, we will look at the perfect home record posted by both JU basketball teams last week, while checking out at what is in store for this week.

WEEK IN REVIEW

Men's Basketball

The Dolphins posted a pair of victories over Florida Tech and South Carolina State last week at the Arena.

JU had five players in doubles figures en route to a 89-60 victory over Florida Tech in a special daytime tip on Nov. 22.

Evan Jefferson and Tyrone Curnell led the Dolphins with 18 points apiece, both new career highs. Jefferson's scoring came courtesy of a career-best four 3-pointers while Curnell had a team-high eight rebounds.

Freshman point guard Ben Smith picked up the first double-double of his career with 12 points and 10 assists.

Two days later, the Dolphins had six players in double figures, including four freshman, as they scored 52 points in the second half to down the Bulldogs, 87-74.

The freshmen paced the Dolphins, scoring 54 of the points for JU. Freshmen Corey Claitt and Lehmon Colbert led all scorers with 17 points apiece while Curnell and Smith added 10 points each.

Joining the quartet of freshman in double figures was Jefferson with 14 off the bench and Jesse Kimbrough's 12 points.

JU travels to Orlando today to face former Atlantic Sun rival UCF at 7:30 p.m. Following tonights' game, the Dolphins will be in Nashville starting on Thursday to open the conference schedule against Lipscomb at 9:15 p.m. before facing A-Sun tournament Champion, Belmont on Saturday.

Women's Basketball

JU continues its best start in program history (4-0) after defeating UCF and Charleston Southern at home last week.

They opend the week with a 61-50 victory against former A-Sun foe UCF on Nov. 21 at Swisher Gymnasium.

Three Dolphins scored in double figures to help the JU women's basketball team earn their first three-game winning streak since 2000-01.

Ashley Williams, who was named A- Sun "Player of the Week" on Nov. 20, finished with a game-high 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the floor. She also finished with a team-high six rebounds to go along with three assists, two blocks and two steals. Sophomore guard Virginia Gregoire finished with 13 points, six assists and five rebounds while also nailing 3-of-5 three-pointers. Sophomore guard Regina Omoite also added 13 points, 11 of which came in the first half, after connecting on 3-of-6 three-point baskets. The Dolphins also dominated on the break by outscoring the Golden Knights, 14-0, on fast break opportunities.

The Dolphins wrapped up their week by dowing the Lady Buccaneers, 74-71, to complete the series sweep in their first game at the Veterans Memorial Arena.

Williams (19 pts., 11 rbs) and Gregoire (12 pts., 11 rbs) each recorded a double-double to rally the JU from a late six-point deficit to secure the win.

Sophomore guard DaVina Hamilton put up 16 points, five rebounds, three assist and three steals. Omoite rounded out the JU scoring with 13 points, including a 3-for-5 effort from beyond the arc.

The Dolphins, like the men's team, will travel to Nashville this week to start the A-Sun schedule. They begin on Thursday at 7 p.m. against Lipscomb before finishing the week with Belmont on Saturday at noon.
