JUAA ticket drive kicks off this week

Oct. 5, 2006

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - With JU basketball returning Downtown, the JUAA Board has launched a ticket drive to help boost attendance at the games. Mark Usdin will be leading the JUAA ticket drive with a goal set for 1000 season tickets sold.

"I'm personally involved because I know how important JU is to our community," said JUAA Chairman Mike Hartley. "The Board is dedicated to supporting JU athletics and to help JU return to the national prominence it once enjoyed. We have witnessed some exciting changes recently and are confident that JU is on the way to fielding competitive teams in every sport."

Joining Hartley on the JUAA Board for the 2006-07 year will be Jim Dalton, Past Chair of the JUAA; Jerry Bussell, Chair-Elect; Mark Usdin, Ticket Drive Chair; and Fred Pruitt, Advisory Board Representative. The JUAA Board consists of 39 members and works to actively raise funds for JU Athletics through memberships to the JUAA, season ticket drives and the Mystery Dinner Fundraiser. Last year, the board raised more than $400,000 for JU Athletics.

There's no doubt that the 2006-2007 is going to be a great year for JU Athletics. We hope that you will be part of it through your membership in the JUAA. Your support is critical to the operation and success of this program, but it's your active participation as a loyal fan that makes the greatest impact on our student-athletes and staff. Don't miss the opportunity to be a part of the excitement of JU athletics.
