Baseball Falls to Georgia State, 11-1 in Series Finale

ATLANTA, Ga. - Junior Alex Jamieson (Sarasota, Fla.) went 2-for-2 to lead the Dolphins at the plate, but Georgia State's bats caught fire in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, clubbing 14 hits and scoring 11 runs in an 11-1 victory at DeKalb South Field.
Freshman Pete Clifford (Jacksonville/Providence) had one hit and a RBI in the third inning. JU starter Josh Deel (Jacksonville/Wolfson) (0-1) gave up seven hits and four earned runs in 2.2 innings of work in his first start of the season. Georgia State's Milton Feliciano (2-2) pitched the complete game victory.
JU evens its record at 10-10 and drops to 2-4 in the Atlantic Sun, while Georgia State improves to 6-10 and 3-3 in conference.
Georgia State put up two runs in the second, three in the third and five in the fifth to lead 11-1 in the fifth inning. The Dolphins managed just four hits, while stranding four runners on base.
The Dolphins mustered their only run of the game in the third when senior Rob Hudson (Garden City, Mich.) reached on an error and stole second, setting up Alex Jamieson's (Sarasota, Fla.) RBI single, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
The Dolphins travel to Florida A&M on Tuesday, March 16 to take on the Rattlers at 4 p.m.
