Black Squad Wins Game Two of Green & Black World Series, 9-8

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Junior Donald Brickle (Jacksonville/Arlington Country Day) capped off a seven-run rally for the Black squad with an opposite-field home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to defeat the Green team, 9-8, Friday evening in Game Two of the Green & Black World Series at Alexander Breast Field. The Green team held a 7-0 advantage in the contest but four costly errors allowed the Black squad to get back into the game. The three-game series, which is a split-squad fall exhibition by the JU baseball program, will conclude at Alexander Breast Field on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m. Despite a 2-0 lead by the Black squad, the final game of the series will be played as scheduled.

Sophomore right-hander Andrew Laughter (Longwood, Fla.) earned the win for the Black squad after throwing 1.0 inning of perfect relief. Senior Patrick Gleason (Merritt Island, Fla.) was tagged with the loss.
