After the Trojans made it 11-1, the Dolphins scored five runs on six hits and took advantage of one Troy error in the bottom of the fourth. With one out, Pehrson pulled a solo shot over the right-field fence and Gronkowski followed with a line drive over the left-center wall. After a double down the third-base line by sophomore Logan James (Jacksonville/Clearwater) and an infield single by senior Sean McHugh (Port Orange, Fla.), sophomore Doug Fowler (High Point, N.C.) drove in a run with a grounder to second, which Bryan Madril dropped before inducing an inning-ending double-play. With two outs, Clifford cleared the bases with a double to right center.

Troy answered with two runs in the top of the fifth after an RBI double by Blake Green and a run scoring wild pitch. The Trojans added two more runs in the seventh and a run in the ninth to end the scoring in the contest.
