JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -
The JU baseball team and fans will get a glimpse of what to expect in the 2007 season as the Dolphins begin the 18th annual Green & Black Fall World Series this week at Alexander Brest Field.
After a draft conducted by senior third baseman Thomas LePage (Green) and senior second baseman Logan James (Black) on Tuesday evening, the split- squad exhibition will begin on Friday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. Game two of the series will be on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. and the final game is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 29, at noon. Regardless of the outcome of the series, each contest will be played.
The JU baseball coaching staff will also host a Bar-B- Q & Batting Practice event on Saturday at 4 p.m. prior to game two of the series. The event, which will be catered by Bono's Bar-B-Q, will be open to all players and their families.
"This is a great opportunity for the guys to show the progress that they have made through the fall in an extremely competitive environment," said JU head coach Terry Alexander. "As coaches, we look forward to seeing the team compete and finding out who emerges as an early leader on the squad."
