No. 4 JU to Face No. 5 Lipscomb In First Round of A-Sun Tourney

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University Dolphins will open up the 2005 Sun Trust Banks Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Championship on Thursday, March 3 against fifth-seeded Lipscomb in the second game of the evening session, which is scheduled to start at 9:15 p.m. EST at the Curb Event Center in Nashville. The fourth-seeded Dolphins (15-12, 11-9 A-Sun) finished the regular season strong, winning 11 of their last 15 games. No. 5 Lipscomb (16-11, 11-9 A-Sun) ended the regular season by winning six of their last eight games.

JU leads the all-time series with Lipscomb, 4-1, with the Bisons taking their first win in the series, 73-63, in the teams' previous match-up in the Allen Arena in Nashville. The Dolphins took the earlier meeting at Swisher Gymnasium, 58-49, on January 15. The winner of the JU vs. Lipscomb game will play the winner of No. 1 Gardner-Webb vs. No. 8 Troy on Friday at 7:00 p.m. EST.

All of JU's A-Sun tournament games can be heard live on The Winner AM 970, beginning 15 minutes prior to tip-off with The Dolphin Pregame Show. Four of the seven A-Sun Tournament games will air live on Comcast Sports Southeast, while the A-Sun Championship game will be live on ESPN2 on Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m. EST.
