JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University men's golf team opens its season on Monday with a new look at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate.

The Dolphins will run two freshmen out in the first tournament of the season, with senior Matt Kleinrock being the top returner from a year ago.

"We've got a young group, so these first few tournaments are going to be a great learning experience for this team," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "This is a great tournament for us to start the year and see where we stand early."

Kleinrock finished his junior campaign with a 74.4 stroke average and carded three rounds in the 60s. His highlight of the season came at the Braveheart Classic as he rallied to win the individual title, leading the Dolphins to the team title.

"Matt had a good summer and we're expecting a lot out of him this season," Taketa said. "He improved in each tournament last spring and I can see that continuing this fall."

The Dolphins will play 36 holes on the Country Club of South Carolina on Monday with the final round scheduled for Tuesday morning.
