Men's golf in 14th after two rounds at the Mizuno Southbridge Intercollegiate

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Playing in his first event of the season, junior Christian Martin carded rounds of 70 and 73 to sit in a tie for 11th after the first two rounds of the Mizuno Southbridge Intercollegiate.

The Dolphins opened with a 299 in the first round and shot a 305 in the second round to sit in 14th place with a 36-hole total of 604 in the 15-team event.

Winthrop's Kelly Manders leads the individual competition at seven-under par, 137, after rounds of 69 and 68. Manders play led Winthrop to the lead in the team competition with a 36-hole total of 561.

Martin was the only Dolphin to record a round under par on the day, sitting at one-under par after 36 holes.

Matt Kleinrock opened with an even-par 72 but shot an eight-over par 80 in the second round to fall into a tie for 53rd at eight-over par, 152.

Justin Jones had rounds of 76 and 79 to finish the day at 11-over par, 155, and in a tie for 62nd. Joshua Kinsey carded rounds of 81 and 77 to finish at 14-over par, 158.

Michael Main had an 84 in the opening round and 76 in the second round to finish in a tie for 72nd at 16-over par, 160.

The Dolphins will tee it up in the final round on Tuesday morning.
