Senior Matt Kleinrock tied for 22nd while the Dolphins finished ninth in the overall standings as the JU men's golf team completed the final round of the Larry Nelson Collegiate Invitational at the Woodlands Course of the Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Ga.

Kleinrock fired an 80 in the final stanza to follow his rounds of 72 and 79 on the first day, to lead all Dolphin competitors with a 231. Freshman Gavin St. John Frost had the best round of the day for JU, carding a 75, to go along with his rounds of 77 and 83 (235) and tie for 36th place.

Freshman Stephen Healy finished tied for 39th (78, 81, 77 - 236) while junior Justin Jones (T41st -- 82, 76, 79 - 237) and junior Christian Martin (T41st - 79, 78, 80 - 237) rounded out the other finishers for the Dolphins.

"We didn't finish as well as we would like but now we have to turn our focus to the conference tournament," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "The one benefit this week was to give us an opportunity to play on the same course that we will see in a couple of weeks."

The Dolphins finished ninth overall with a total of 931, which placed ahead of De Paul (934), Nicholls State (938), South Dakota State (940), Binghamton (641) and Lipscomb (952).

Host Kennesaw State won the team title with an 878 while Campbell (900), Gardner-Webb (909), Mercer (913) and Armstrong Atlantic (917) rounded out the top five.

Individually, Andrew An of Mercer (72, 73, 70 - 215), Chris Wolfe of Armstrong Atlantic (70, 71, 74 - 215) and Gideon Pienaar of Central Arkansas (72, 71, 72 - 215) finished in a three-way tie for first to share the title.

The Dolphins will complete the 2007-08 season at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship on April 21-23 at the Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Ga.
