Cliff Warren earns recognition as A-Sun

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After being overlooked as the Atlantic Sun Conference "Coach of the Year," JU head coach Cliff Warren was named A-Sun "Coach of the Year" by on Wednesday.

Warren guided one of the greatest single-season turnarounds in NCAA history, lifting JU from just one win during the 2005-06 campaign to 15 this season. While the win total was a big increase, Warren also led the Dolphins to their best finish in the A-Sun since joining the league in 1999.

Jacksonville's head coach is also a finalist for the Jim Phelan national "Coach of the Year" award as well as the Hugh Durham mid-major "Coach of the Year" award.

"I am very appreciative of the staff at to consider me for coach of the year," said JU head coach Cliff Warren. "This honor isn't about me, it's about what the guys accomplished this season. The players came to work every day and this honor is about them much more than me."
