Dolphins To Hold Free Football And Cheerleading Clinic On Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Area youngsters will have an opportunity to experience the college game-day atmosphere when Jacksonville University hosts NCAA Football's annual "Take a Kid to the Game" program on Saturday, Sept. 30. Kids, ages 16 and under, will receive a free ticket with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket to watch the JU Dolphins take on Austin Peay at 1 p.m. at Milne Field on the JU Campus.
There will also be a free football and cheerleading clinic at 11 a.m. at Milne Field, while the Jacksonville Jaguars' cheerleading squad - The Roar - will be performing at halftime. Also scheduled to perform at halftime is the Terry Parker High School marching band.
"We are very excited to be participating in the NCAA Take a Kid to the Game intiative," said Hugh Durham, interim athletic director at JU. "Our wish is that all young kids will have an opportunity to experience the one-of-a-kind atmosphere that is college football."

Parents will also receive a free child identification program kit upon leaving the field. JU is one of more than 150 schools across the nation participating in the campaign focused on attracting more of the nation's youths to college games. The Take a Kid to the Game program is in its sixth year in the promotion of NCAA Athletics.
