Football Adds Former Dolphins To Radio Broadcast Team

Sept. 2, 2003

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Former Jacksonville University football standout Will Weatherford has been tabbed color analyst for the 2003 Jacksonville University football radio broadcasts, while former All-Pioneer Football League tight end Andrew Bianchi has been added as a sideline reporter, JU officials announced today. Both former Dolphins will join Cole Pepper, who is entering his third season as the "Voice of the Dolphins", for all six JU home games, while also making periodic appearances on The Steve Gilbert Show.

All JU football games and coach's shows air live on "The Winner", AM 1570. The Dolphins open the 2003 football season on Saturday at Lenoir-Rhyne College at 1 p.m. The Steve Gilbert Show airs live every Thursday during the football season from 6-7 p.m. at The Mudville Grille in St. Nicholas beginning Sept. 4. All JU games can also be heard live on the Dolphins' official athletic web site - www.judolphins.com.

Weatherford, who was JU's sideline reporter last season and filled in for Carnell Lake as color analyst for three games, started all 31 games of his career for the Dolphins before graduating following his redshirt junior season in 2001. The former defensive end finished his career with 129 tackles, including 19 behind the line of scrimmage, while helping lead the Dolphins to the 2001 PFL South Division Championship in their first season in the league. Bianchi was a two-time All-PFL tight end, finishing his career with 35 receptions, including a breakout senior season in which he caught 17 passes for 208 yards. The two-time Academic All-PFL honoree is the Dolphins' top blocking tight end in the short five-year history of the program, having helped pave the way for a school-record 1,998 yards rushing in 2001.

Season and individual game tickets are available for the Dolphins' six-game home schedule by calling the JU Athletic Ticket Office at (904) 256-7407.
