Football Continues Celebrity Guest Analyst Radio Program

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University football continues its celebrity guest analyst program for Dolphin home games this Saturday when former Oakland Raider great Pete Banaszak joins Cole Pepper in the booth for the Dolphins' matchup against Webber International at 12:30 p.m. at D.B. Milne Field. The Dolphin Pregame Show begins at noon.

Banaszak, a 13-year veteran of the AFL/NFL, played under coaches John Madden and Tom Flores for the Raiders, scoring two touchdowns in Oakland's 34-13 win over Minnesota in Super Bowl XI. The former running back and kick returner stands sixth on Oakland's all-time rushing chart with 3,772 yards on 964 carries during his career. In 1975, he rushed for 16 touchdowns, which tied for the NFL lead. Banaszak amassed 4,789 total yards and 52 touchdowns over his playing days.

Banaszak is now in his 10th year working for the Jacksonville Jaguars Radio Network, serving as an analyst on the postgame show with Pepper for the past eight. He is no stranger to Florida college football, playing three seasons at Miami, where he was named the team's most valuable player following his senior season.

JU celebrity analyst program ends with next week's Southeastern Louisiana game, when First Coast News sports anchors Dan Hicken and Jeff Prosser join Pepper for the game. Hicken and Prosser also host `Sports Final Wake-Up Call' weekdays morning on "The Winner", AM 970.

All JU games, as well as `The Steve Gilbert Show', air live on "The Winner", AM 970 WNNR. Pepper is in his fourth season as the "Voice of the Dolphins", while former Dolphin Josh Beauchamp provides sideline commentary.
