Senior running back Bryan Gamble: "The competition between Jerry Brant, Cecil Coltrane and I has been a good thing. We have been pushing each other to get better and that will benefit us because we are going to go by committee this year. We need each other to make this a better unit.

"We look good as a team after the first week. The defense has showed up day-in and day- out and the offense hasn't backed down. The biggest thing is that we haven't had any practices rained out this year. Without missing any days, it has allowed us to get things going a lot faster.

"At the end of spring practice, we had a meeting with coach Brian Ferguson and he told us there is no set No. 1 running back heading into camp. He wasn't going to show us any favorites so we took that attitude into the weight room with coach John Patrick. We all had perfect attendance over the summer, for the first time ever, and now we are carrying that competition over to camp. Even the other players on the team have been helping us push each other by not showing any favorites among us."

The Dolphins will return to the practice field at 7 p.m.
