Golf's Andy Allen Tabbed All-American Scholar by Golf Coaches Association of America

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - JU golfer Andy Allen (Jacksonville/Wolfson) was named a Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Allen, who graduated in May, is currently continuing his golf career by playing major amateur events this summer.

Allen was outstanding both on and off the course, earning the inaugural President's Award, which is presented to the JU senior athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average. Allen, who graduated with a 3.72 GPA and a degree in finance, led the Dolphins this spring with a 73.7 stroke average and led the team in scoring in five of seven tournaments.

Allen finished in the top 16 in all but one of his collegiate events with his highest finish coming at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate in Mississippi in February, where he fired a 7-under par 209.
