Russell Knox invited to the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic

Aug. 14, 2006

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Armed with his selection as honorable mention All-America and strong summer campaign, Russell Knox has been invited to the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic.

The Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic brings all of the previous year's All-America honorees to El Paso, Texas. Knox will be facing the nation's best, with last year's national player of the year, Oklahoma State's Pablo Martin, headlining the field.

"This is a great opportunity for Russell and a well deserved honor," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "The experience from playing in this tournament will help Russell tremendously. He had a good summer of competition and will be ready when we start the fall season."

The Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic is one of the premier events in college golf, featuring only individuals that earned All-America honors the year prior. The field list reads like a who's who of college golf: Billy Horshell (Florida), Luke List (Vanderbilt), Rhys Davies (East Tennessee State), Jonathan Moore (Oklahoma State), Brendon Todd (Georgia), and Daniel Im (UCLA).
