Men's golf tied for tenth at Pat Hicks Invitational

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Duncan Stewart fired a six-under par 67 to sit in a four-way tie for first place after the first round of the Pat Hicks Invitational, hosted on the par-73 Sunbrook Golf Course.

Stewart was joined in the under par scoring with Russell Knox, who carded a one-under par 72 to lead the Dolphins to an even-par round of 292.

JU trails host Southern Utah by 10 shots after the Thunderbirds posted a 10-under par 282.

Stewart is joined atop the individual leaderboard by Grand Canyon's Donald Zaruba III, Utah Valley State's Nic Van Vuuren, and Colorado State's Bryce Hanstad.

Stewart opened his round with by going out in 30 before finishing with a 37 on the back side to tie for the lead. Knox went out in 37 before playing the final nine with a 34 to tie for 21st.

Justin Jones carded a three-over par 76 to tie for 71st, while Christian Martin posted a five-over par 78 to tie for 83rd. Jamie Kennedy shot an 81 and is tied for 98th.

The Dolphins continue their spring season opener on Tuesday morning.
