Virginia used five first-half goals to defeat short-handed Jacksonville, 7-1, Sunday to claim the Virginia Soccer Classic title at Klockner Stadium.

Sophomore defender Scot Shewey (Gainesville, Fla.) and freshman defender Brett Surrency (Gainesville, Fla.) earned all-tournament honors for the Dolphins, who fell to 0-2 on the season.

Senior forward Mladen Dikic (Lovran, Croatia) scored the Dolphins lone goal at the 76:21 mark off of an assist from freshman midfielder Stephen Decker (Gainesville, Fla.).

Alecko Eskandarian scored two goals and Steve Totten had a pair of assists for Virginia.

The Dolphins return to action Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Brewton-Parker at 4 p.m.
