JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sophomore midfielder Brian Blackburn (Jacksonville/Orange Park), junior forward Ryan Potts (Winter Park, Fla.), and freshman forward Tommy Krizanovic (Jacksonville/Englewood) each tallied goals, but Thomas University scored two second-half goals to tie JU, 3-3, Tuesday afternoon in exhibition play.

Thomas took an early lead when Ole Fuglem scored the Night Hawks' first goal on a penalty kick in the 18th minute of the game. Blackburn evened the score when he connected from five yards out on the left side off a pass from sophomore defender Brian Kallman (Woodbury, Minn.).

The Dolphins took a 2-1 lead in the 43rd minute when Potts received a pass from Alex Sisemore (Tulsa, Okla.) and drilled the ball to the lower right corner of the goal from 20 yards out to give JU a 2-1 lead at the half.

The Dolphins extended the lead to 3-1 in the 46th minute when Krizanovic connected on a header from two yards out on a feed from sophomore forward Dion Jagroo (Orlando, Fla.). The Night Hawks answered less then a minute later on a Andri Sveinsson goal, then Birgir Rafn Birgisson scored off a rebound right in front of the goalkeeper in the 54th minute to force the tie.

Seniors Greg Williams (Hopewell, N.Y.) and Mike Miller (East Brunswick, N.J.) split time in goal, combining for five saves.

The Dolphins play their final exhibition match on Saturday at 5 p.m. when they host Embry-Riddle at the Ashley Sports Complex.
