JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU men's soccer team fell to Embry-Riddle, 2-0, in the final exhibition match for the Dolphins. Senior Greg Williams (Hopewell, N.Y.) collected four saves and played the entire game in goal for JU.

Clifton Philipw gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead when he took a pass from Phil Murray and scored from five yards out in the 37th minute. Embry-Riddle added another goal in the 88th minute as Danny Whelan got out on a breakaway, dribbled past Williams, and put the ball away to make it 2-0.

The Eagles and Dolphins both took 12 shots, while the corner kick total was even at 2-2. Ryan Potts (Winter Park, Fla.) led JU offensively with six shots.

The Dolphins return to action next Friday in their season opener, when they compete in the Dennis Viollet Memorial Cup against North Florida at the Eagle Harbor Soccer Complex in Orange Park, Fla. The match is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
